"Diamond Grinding" pavement in New York, USA

In a road project in Buffalo, New York, USA, in order to ensure a smooth road surface, a diamond grinding road surface was used. After diamond grinding, the pavement life can be guaranteed for 50 years with very low maintenance costs. This method is rare in current road construction and is far ahead of previous concrete pavement construction techniques. The project is currently the largest road reconstruction project in the Buffalo area, including the conversion of eight bridges and the addition of a fourth lane in the two-way two-mile interval of Interstate 90, with a total construction cost of $600 million. After the completion of the project, it is expected to further increase traffic flow based on the existing average daily traffic of 200,000 vehicles.
