Distribution and demand of fertilizer in the country

China's landforms are complex and diverse, and the gap between social and economic development and the living standards of farmers is very large, resulting in a wide variety of fertilizer use.

At present, the problem of imbalance between fertilizer use areas is still outstanding. The Yellow River and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Jiangsu and Hubei provinces are currently the most concentrated areas of fertilizer, accounting for about 50% of the total national consumption, followed by Heilongjiang, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi. Provincial area. The above 12 provinces accounted for 71% of the total national consumption. The regional concentration of various fertilizers is also high. The top 6 nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers are in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Jiangsu and Hubei provinces; the top 6 potash fertilizers are in Henan, Guangxi, Shandong, Guangdong, Hunan, and Anhui provinces; the top 6 compound fertilizers are Shandong, Henan, and Hebei. In Anhui, Jiangsu and Guangxi, the corresponding dosages account for about 50% of the total national consumption.

The regional differences in the increase in the use of chemical fertilizers are large, with the largest increase in North China and East China, and also showing different stages. For example, some provinces mainly grew in the 1980s, while others grew in the 1990s, and generally nitrogen fertilizer growth was earlier than phosphate fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer earlier than potash fertilizer and compound fertilizer. In recent years, the growth rate of chemical fertilizers has slowed down, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers have basically stagnated, potash fertilizers and compound fertilizers are still increasing, and they are mainly concentrated in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Hubei provinces.

In terms of chemical fertilizer structure, the proportion of nitrogen fertilizer in the whole country decreased, and the proportion of compound fertilizer and potash fertilizer increased. The proportion of nitrogen fertilizer has decreased year by year, currently less than 50%; compound fertilizer has increased significantly, exceeding 22% of phosphate fertilizer; phosphate fertilizer is basically maintained at about 20%; potash fertilizer is slowly increasing, close to 10%.

In recent years, many units have investigated the fertilization status of various crops in China, and calculated the macro-reasonable consumption of chemical fertilizers in each province according to the rational fertilization amount and planting structure of the main crops in each province, and compared with the actual consumption, it is concluded that the provinces should also increase. Or reduce the amount of fertilizer. The results showed that if the planting structure was calculated in 1999, the reasonable consumption of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in the country was 24,836,000, 12.769 million and 9.586 million tons respectively. From the perspective of regional distribution, North China and East China should be large consumers of fertilizers. Several areas are not much different. Compared with the rational consumption, the actual consumption of chemical fertilizers in the country is basically the same, the investment of phosphate fertilizer and potassium fertilizer is insufficient; the nitrogen fertilizer is excessive in North China, East China and Central China, the investment in other regions is insufficient, the Northwest is the most lacking, and the Southwest is lacking; Only a slight excess in Central China, North China, Northwest China and Northeast China are lacking; potassium is insufficient, North China is the most lacking, followed by Central China, followed by East China, South China, Southwest, Northwest and Northeast.
