Dual-Cylinder Advantages

[Chinalco.com] In 2010, Danieli Breda of Italy planned and manufactured a 22mn twin-tube extruder. Compared with the conventional single-tube extruder (Table 1 and Table 2), it has the following advantage:
● 41.2% reduction in non-working hours;
● Reduced installed power by 44.4%;
● Energy consumption /h decreased 12.49%;
● Productivity/h rises by 5.88%;
● Profile energy consumption / kg decreased by 17.35%;
● The annual value of up to 300,000 Euros is very impressive.

Economic calculation:
• One 22mn extruder can extrude an average of 25 ingots/h with an average mass of 80kg per block;
• If you work three shifts, work 20 hours a day, and work 220 days a year, the output is:
25 blocks/h×20h/d×200d×80kg=8800t/a;
• Since 7s can be saved per squeezed ingot, then:
7s/block×25 blocks/h×20h/d×220d/a=770000s/a, that is 214h per year;
• If the aluminum price is calculated at 0.7 EUR/kg, then the value of the aluminum profile produced at 214h is:
214h/a×25 blocks/h×80kg/block×0.7 EUR/kg=300,000 EUR/a.
This is the value created by the double cylinder extruder in one year. In order to purchase a double-barrel extruder, the cost paid for more can be recovered in less than one year. If the annual working time is calculated as 300 days, the investment can be recovered this year.
