Introduction to engineering grade saturated polyester PET and PBT

PBT and PET are collectively referred to as engineering grade saturated polyester. Currently used as engineering plastics is PBT, which was introduced to the market by Celanese in the United States in 1970. PBT has excellent heat resistance. The 30% glass fiber reinforced grade has a heat distortion temperature greater than 210 ° C, can withstand high continuous use temperatures, and has excellent electrical properties.

PBT is mainly used in electrical equipment to manufacture connectors, plugs, coil formers, fuse boxes, high voltage package assemblies, tuners, and the like. With the development of miniaturization, flatness, and installation intensification of electronic and electrical components, from the reliability of PBT products, while maintaining the properties of PBT, such as heat resistance and electrical insulation, gas volatilization and precipitation of low molecular substances are reduced. Improving cracking and balancing flame retardancy have become the subject of PBT modification.
