Offshore wind power in China will enter the stage of large-scale development

According to Xinhua News Agency, according to the "12th Five-Year Plan" energy plan and renewable energy plan currently being formulated, in 2015, China will build 5 million kilowatts of offshore wind power, form a complete set of offshore wind power technologies and establish a complete industrial chain. After 2015, China's offshore wind power will enter the stage of large-scale development and reach the international advanced technology level. In 2020, offshore wind power in China will reach 30 million kilowatts.

The high utilization hours of offshore power generation, the fact that it does not occupy land and it is suitable for large-scale development are the latest frontiers for the development of wind power in the world. In June 2010, China established the 100,000-kilowatt offshore demonstration wind farm at Shanghai Donghai Bridge, which is the only offshore wind farm built and put into operation outside of Europe.
