SolarWorld produces five-gate solar photovoltaic modules in the United States

SolarWorld's latest announcement that it will deploy five-gate production, said that this application can achieve 21.51% battery efficiency for PERC batteries on N-type silicon wafers. The company will produce at its manufacturing base in Oregon, but did not disclose the specific output.

SolarWorld said that the use of five-gate technology can increase efficiency up to 2%, can be achieved by modifying the existing beam system to achieve the five-gate technology. The amendment will be completed in the second quarter of this year. The company plans to produce 300W 60-cell modules in Europe and the United States this year on Q3.

Last month, Suntech announced the use of four-gate equipment for the production of all Gigawatt grade batteries.

Busbarless technology is slowly being introduced into the market as more and more gridline technologies are used. Schmid and Meyer Burger launched their Busbarless technology in the form of Multi Busbar Connector and SmartWire products, respectively. GT Advanced Technologies introduced Busbarless with Merlin interconnect technology, and the company claims that this application can increase efficiency by 3%-5%.
