Beijing rail transit elevator will install black box

Before the end of June this year, Beijing launched an elevator and escalator system for the installation of rail transit. A total of more than 3,000 “black boxes” will monitor elevator safety and the operation of elevator components in real time. At present, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision and the Traffic Commission are conducting a survey. The "black box" will be officially launched at the end of the year.

On the 26th, the Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision publicized the safety of elevators for the first time at the Weigongcun Primary School. The staff members played the elevator promotion videos correctly to the fourth grade students. Li Lianghua, Director of the Special Administrative Division of the Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision, introduced that the Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision will issue more than 3,000 primary and secondary schools with related promotional films to be broadcast in some safety education classes.

Li Lianghua revealed that in addition to installing “black box” elevators on rail transit, the inspection of elevators will also be strengthened this year. Spot checks will be carried out on the maintenance site. Once it reaches a certain level, it will be ordered to withdraw from the market.

In addition, this year began to impose penalties on the elevator maintenance department that has not been inspected by the extended period, and the maximum penalty is 300,000 yuan. This year, more than 8,000 elevators in residents' old districts will be spot checked. The municipal government has allocated more than 6 million special funds to repair the existing old residential building elevators.
