U.S. Will Convert Waste and Human Waste into Electricity in Iran

A U.S. company recently signed a preliminary agreement with Iran to invest $1.175 billion in Iran for the conversion of waste and human waste into electricity. This commercial order is extremely rare in the history of the United States and Iraq in the past 40 years.

Agence France-Presse reported on the 5th that the World Economic and Energy Corporation, headquartered in California, USA, intends to invest and build factories in Iran to burn waste such as garbage and human waste, generate electricity, and process seaweed, wastewater and seawater to generate electricity. It is expected to generate 250 megawatts per day.

A company spokesperson said that the planned site is located in the Chahammahal-Bakhtiari area in southwestern Iran. After completion, it expects to employ 600 to 700 people, 80% of which will be recruited locally in Iran. The project is scheduled to be launched in September this year.

AFP said that similar commercial agreements between the United States and Iran had been extremely rare in the past and could serve as a signal to the United States, the European Union and the United Nations to relax their sanctions against Iran.

At this stage, the sixth round of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue is being held in Vienna, the Austrian capital. The parties will continue to negotiate on a comprehensive agreement to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue. This round of negotiations is difficult and attracting attention because the agreement reached between Iran and the Iranian nuclear issue last November in Geneva will soon expire on July 20. The new negotiations will determine the next phase of the Iranian nuclear issue.

However, in the past few months, the Iranian economy is benefiting.
