Prepared by China Building Standard Design and Research Institute, China Building Decoration Association kitchen and sanitary engineering committee and national kitchen and bathroom industry leading enterprises participated in the preparation of the People's Republic of China national standard GB/T 11228-2008 "residential kitchen and related equipment basic parameters", GB/T The 11977-2008 “Functional and Dimensional Series of Residential Bathrooms” was promulgated on November 4, 2008 and officially implemented on June 1, 2009. The two standards aim at the inconsistency of the standard sizes of kitchens, bathroom civil engineering, design departments, and parts manufacturing companies in the current civil residential buildings, especially the problems of unregulated layout of the pipelines for the upper and lower water and gas, and the wide spacing of toilet bowls. It promoted the development of China's housing integration, and also solved a major problem for the standardization of kitchen and bathroom parts manufacturers.

In order to let the relevant industries understand and implement the standard, and indeed promote the process of housing integration in China, the China Building Standard Design and Research Institute will co-host the Chinese people with the China Building Decoration Association, the National Chamber of Industry and Commerce Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, and the China Building Decoration Association kitchen and engineering committee. The National Standard of the Republic GB/T 11228-2008 "Basic Parameters of Residential Kitchens and Related Equipment", and GB/T 11977-2008 "Function and Size Series of Residential Toilets" were held.
