In 2005, the China RFID Standards Working Group was established and involved 125 companies. With the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Information Industry, the RFID Industry Alliance was established in the same year and 300 companies participated.

In 2006, the Ministry of Science and Technology, together with 14 ministries and commissions, jointly promulgated the White Paper on China's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Policy. Fifteen ministries reached a consensus on the application of the Internet of Things in RFID and jointly pushed forward.

In 2007, the Ministry of Information Industry issued the "Regulations for the Application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology in the Frequency Band of 800-900 MHz", which is linked to international standards.

In 2009, the Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Railways respectively issued the relevant policies for the Internet of Things (RFID) applications.
