Pay attention to it. On the other hand, due to the complexity of plastic additives, in addition to the complexity of importing country standards and regulations, enterprises are difficult to master, the general enterprises also lack sufficient technical capabilities to identify the compliance and safety of procurement auxiliaries. Objectively, some enterprises blindly use plastic additives to cause hidden dangers to the quality and safety of export products.

In view of this, the inspection and quarantine department reminds relevant enterprises:

First, actively understand the requirements of foreign standards. Track US federal regulations, the US FDA Food Contact Bulletin List, EU Directive 2002/72/EC Food Contact Plastics and other related regulations. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen contact with the inspection and quarantine department to obtain standard information in a timely manner.

The second is to pay attention to the choice of plastic additives. Products with different uses have certain requirements on the appearance, smell and pollution of the auxiliaries used. Before signing an order, the company should first communicate with foreign customers to clarify the final use of the product and within the framework of the importing country’s regulations. Product use Choose plastic additives, avoid the use of controversial additives, and actively seek to use safe alternatives.

The third is to strengthen the management of the use of plastic additives. Enterprises should improve the procurement system of raw materials, establish stable cooperative relations with suppliers, establish a restraint mechanism, and use the expertise of suppliers to prevent misuse of plastic additives. At the same time, traceability management of plastic additives should be established to control the flow of each additive to facilitate tracking and recall.

The fourth is to strengthen the testing of plastic additives and finished products. For auxiliaries and finished products with higher risks, verification should be carried out in time, and the products should be sent to the testing institutions with technical capabilities for testing and analysis to effectively control product quality and safety risks.
