On March 18th, Yiwu Industrial and Commercial Bureau inspected and found more than 1,700 kinds of Toyota brand spare parts in the warehouses of two FAW Toyota 4S stores in Yiwu City. There is neither a product qualification certificate nor a product inspection report issued by the inspection agency. These spare parts are supplied directly by Toyota.
The survey found that the auto parts sold by the two 4S stores were placed by Toyota Auto Warehousing Trading (Japan Sole Proprietorship) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Toyota Warehousing). Through the on-site inspection and investigation of Toyota warehousing, it was found that most of the auto parts stored in the warehouses that were sold to each 4S shop had no product qualification certificate.

Experts estimate that if Toyota applies this compensation plan to more than 75,000 RAV4 recalled owners nationwide, Toyota will bear the recall cost of more than 20 million yuan.

The relevant person in charge of the Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce said that FAW Toyota actively promoted this work after making a compensation promise in Hangzhou. Up to now, Zhejiang Toyota 4S shop has taken the initiative to implement a door-to-door recall, 90% of the recalled vehicles have been repaired, and 32 RAV4 consumers have obtained the use of the scooter provided by the 4S shop.

Toyota made a commitment to Zhejiang consumers in Hangzhou on March 29, and compensated RAV4 consumers in accordance with the relevant provisions of the “Measures for the Implementation of the Consumer Protection Law of the People's Republic of China”.
