A few days ago, researchers from the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine came to the 14th field of Jialihe Ranch to collect ear tissue samples from 5 high-yielding and high-quality Holstein dairy cows for cloning and to establish a gene pool for the cows. Now, the collected cow's ear cells have been placed in liquid nitrogen at -196 °C for preservation and cultivation. Next, researchers will use these cells for cloning experiments.

Dr. Ding Boliang, director of the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine at the Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that when carrying out a cloning experiment on Boer goats, the research team started with clones of embryos with relatively simple technical difficulty, and then cloned the somatic cell Boer goats. The high-yielding dairy cattle clones that were carried out will not be subjected to embryo cloning tests but will be directly subjected to somatic cell cloning tests.

"The research on the cloning technology of Boer goats is for the people of Tianjin to eat high-quality Boer goats. Therefore, the cloning of high-yielding dairy cows is also the same for people who can drink good quality milk."
