Fruit trees are not fertilized as much as possible

Most plants are like hi-water, but for fruit trees, not as much as possible. Excessive fertilization, fruit trees often exceed their normal physiological needs and excessively absorb nutrients, can only increase the concentration of nutrients in the tree, but have no effect on the increase in yield. And can cause the following adverse effects:

1. Affecting fruit quality: The type of fertilizer, fertilization method and fertilization period are the main factors affecting fruit coloration, flavor, nutrients and storage capacity. In the late stage of fruit growth, if a large amount of nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the sugar content of the fruit will be reduced, the hardness will be lowered, the coloring will be poor, and storage will be imperfect, thereby reducing the commercial value.

2. Affect the quality of shoots and buds: If excessive nitrogen fertilizer is applied in autumn, the autumn shoots will grow, the leaves will be delayed, and the maturity of the shoots will be insufficient. In addition, because the new shoots stop growing late, the nutrients in the shoots are insufficient, which is unfavorable to form a full and strong flower bud, which affects the quality and yield of the next year.

3. Poisoning: Due to the application of a large amount of fertilizer, the concentration of the soil solution is increased, making it difficult for the roots of the fruit tree to absorb water and inorganic salts, causing the aboveground parts to wilting. If not remedied in time, the tree will die due to the inability to absorb water. .

4. The imbalance of nutrients in the tree: There is an antagonistic effect between the nutrients, that is, the presence of a certain nutrient segregant can inhibit the activity of another or a variety of nutrient segregants, thereby affecting the absorption of the tree. For example, the application of nitrogen fertilizer in acidic soil should not be too much, otherwise it will be difficult for crops to absorb calcium ions. Excessive application of calcium fertilizer can induce crops suffering from zinc, boron, iron, magnesium and manganese deficiency. Potassium fertilizer is conducive to increasing yield, increasing the formation of anthocyanins in the fruit, improving coloring and flavor quality, increasing hardness and sugar content, and reducing water loss. If the amount of potassium fertilizer is too much, it will affect the absorption of calcium and magnesium ions by fruit trees.
