The Netherlands lays a solar bike path 70 meters for three households

There are many new things in the Netherlands, and breaking the tradition is their best thing. Recently, a consortium of applied research organizations (TNO) of the Netherlands laid a 70-meter-long solar bicycle path in Croomo, 25 kilometers from Amsterdam. The total cost of the project is approximately RMB 23 million. The plan will be local time in November. On the 12th, it was open to the people.

In fact, this plan began to plan R&D as early as in early 2011. The original plan was to be completed in 2012. However, due to various reasons, it was only recently officially started construction. This solar bicycle lane is made up of a block of concrete blocks that cover the solar panels. The crystal solar panels covered on the surface are only 1 inch (about 2.5cm) thick, but they can withstand the weight of a truck. Although the solar panels cannot be moved to obtain maximum sunlight, this 70-meter-long driveway can provide enough electricity for three families.

The vision of the Dutch Applied Scientific Research Organization is to extensively lay out solar energy lanes and produce enough electric energy to supply electric vehicles, road lighting, and electricity for home businesses, ultimately achieving the ultimate goal of reducing world dependence on fossil fuels and creating a system of renewable energy supply and demand. However, the biggest obstacle facing this plan is the expensive cost.

So far, the project's production cost is about 1.5 million euros (about 11.5 million yuan), and the total cost of completing the entire project construction will be as high as 3 million euros (about 23 million yuan). Despite the high costs, the Netherlands Institute of Applied Sciences is still very optimistic about the prospects of this project. They said that when solar panels become cheaper, the project's production costs will be greatly reduced. Dutch Applied Scientific Research plans to expand the bicycle lane to 100 meters in 2016 and stated that it is possible to bring the project to other areas.
