Vitamin C is one of the most used vitamins in feed. Due to the complex composition of feed, the detection method of vitamin C in feed is always a difficult point in many feed ingredient analysis methods, and it is also a research hotspot in recent years. The current standard for the detection of vitamin C in feeds in China was established in 1999. Due to the limitations of the conditions at the time, the method of using fluorescence spectrophotometer has a long time required for the complicated pretreatment process, low recovery rate and poor detection accuracy. Recently, the Feed Safety Processing and Testing Technology Team of the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has developed a new method for the rapid detection of vitamin C content and its stability in compound feeds by polarography. Using the new method to detect samples, it takes less than two hours from pre-treatment to detection, and the recovery rate of the sample is over 80%.
