As a new type of lithium-ion battery anode material, metal antimony has the advantages of high reversible capacity and low voltage platform, which is expected to replace the graphite negative electrode material, causing people's continued attention. However, during the intercalation and deintercalation of lithium ions, the violent volume change of the metal ruthenium will cause its capacity to decay rapidly.

To solve this problem, Dr. Wei Wei used electrospinning to synthesize a ruthenium/carbon nanofiber composite material. In this material, ruthenium quantum dots (6 nanometers) are highly dispersed in carbon fibers with a porous structure to make ruthenium quantum dots and carbon. The material exhibits an excellent synergistic effect, achieving a perfect combination of germanium quantum dots and carbon nanofibers.

The material used as a lithium battery anode material, the first reversible capacity of 1,204 milliampere-hours per milligram, after 100 cycles, the capacity is still up to 1050 milliampere-hours per milligram, which is nearly three times the capacity of commercial graphite anodes.
