Zheng Nanning said in his speech that the basic research of nano-manufacturing is a very important part of the Fund's major research projects. Most of the funded projects are related to manufacturing, and manufacturing will always be accompanied by human beings on the earth. In a new manufacturing environment, nanofabrication is a cross-disciplinary field that will certainly advance the progress of this major research program.
Lu Bingheng summarized the 2009 application and funding projects from the 2009 program outline, project application and review status, research trends and issues, and project implementation methods of the “Basic Research on Nanofabrication” major research project.
It is reported that the 2009 “Basic Research on Nanofabrication” major research program received 233 applications from 86 units, including the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the Department of Chemical Sciences, the Department of Life Sciences, the Department of Engineering and Materials Science, and the Department of Information Science. Among them, 43 were key projects and 199 were training projects. The basic principle of project selection is to meet the major strategic needs of the country, to reflect the frontier foundation of nano-manufacturing, to highlight the characteristics of mass production, low cost and consistency of nano-manufacturing; to encourage multi-disciplines around the scientific issues and key technical foundations in nano-manufacturing Cross-integration; encourage original exploration research; encourage substantive international collaborative research. After a series of review procedures, it will eventually fund 6 key projects (with a subsidy of 2 million to 3 million yuan), 36 projects (amount of 500,000 to 600,000 yuan), and 1 major research plan. The management fee for the implementation of the plan established by the implementation of the management method, the total funding is 35.96 million yuan.
The meeting also discussed the 2010 project guide and the management model of major research projects. The participating experts conducted in-depth and heated discussions and put forward many constructive comments and suggestions.
The expert group believes that in order to ensure the continuity of the overall objectives and funding direction of the major research project, the “Basic Research on Nanofabrication” major research program will continue to focus on the following five areas in 2010:
1. Nanoscale manufacturing based on the principles of physics/chemistry/biological—mainly researching new methods and processes for nanofabrication such as nanostructure growth, processing, modification, and assembly, and the evolution of structure and device performance in nanoscale manufacturing processes.
2. Nano-precision fabrication of macrostructures—mainly studying new principles, new methods and new processes for nano-precision fabrication of macrostructures, atomic/molecular migration mechanisms, surface/interface effects in nano-precision fabrication, and nano-precision surface processing theory.
3. Nano/micro/macro (cross-scale) manufacturing - mainly studies new principles and methods of cross-scale manufacturing, interface behavior and multi-field regulation mechanisms in cross-scale manufacturing, arrangement, manipulation and integration of cross-scale structures and devices.
4. Nano-manufacturing accuracy and measurement - mainly research on nanometer-scale metrology traceability and error evaluation, nano-manufacturing precision design theory, nanostructure geometric parameters, mechanical/mechanical physical properties measurement and characterization.
5. New Principles of Nanofabrication Equipment——Mainly study the perturbation action mechanism of nanofabrication equipment, nonlinear dynamic behavior and response distortion characteristics, energy conversion mode and process control, and a new method of driving and controlling nanometer precision motion.
