In May, China exported 240 kt of stainless steel and domestic production capacity continued to be released to the international market.

It is reported that the recent improvement in stainless steel import and export situation is not obvious, imports have declined, and exports have increased slightly from the previous month.

It is predicted that as of the end of 2015, China's stainless steel production capacity may reach 28 million tons. According to China's apparent consumption of 13.62 million tons of stainless steel in 2011, if apparent consumption is increased by 15%, by the end of 2015, China’s apparent consumption of stainless steel will reach 24 million tons and the overcapacity will be 4 million tons.
