External features: the heart and sapwood are distinctly different, the sapwood is wide, yellowish white, and the heartwood is dark reddish brown, forming extremely slow. The breast diameter is 50cm, the heartwood is only 18cm or less, the breast diameter is 38cm, and the heartwood is only 2.5-10cm. The heartwood has irregular black spots and patterns, and the pattern changes volatility, resembling serpentine, hieroglyphics, and English letters. Therefore, it has the reputation of serpent wood, letter wood and oracle bone wood, which is very decorative. Its unique dark pattern part is formed by resin, with strong luster, fine structure, straight text, loose pore material, small diameter of the tube, thin wall structure, strong tube and fine wood.
Processing characteristics: wood is very heavy and high in strength, air dry density is 1.20-1.36g/cm3, which is the world's most dense wood. The heartwood is extremely resistant to corrosion, insect-resistant, smooth cut surface and good polishing. The average bending strength is 14599 - 21599 psi, the average compressive strength is 900kg/cm2, the radius shrinks by 6%, the tangential shrinkage is 9%, and the end face is easy to crack. Because the heartwood is hard, it is difficult to process and difficult to saw. The serrations are reinforced and the cut surface is smooth. It has excellent polishing properties, and it is also very beautiful without direct polishing and waxing. The spinning products are excellent.
